Alberobello (FSE). The Ferrovie del Sud Est line from Bari reaches Alberobello in about 1 hour 45 for around 5 euros, a handful of runs a day and sparse to none on Sundays; check the day's timetable before committing. The trulli zone is a 10 minute walk from the halt.

The town is small and the trulli districts (Rione Monti and Aia Piccola) are pure pedestrian lanes; no local transit exists or is needed

On foot
- ·Rione Monti is the postcard slope of 1,000 trulli shops; cross to quieter Aia Piccola where people still live in theirs, ten minutes and a world apart
- ·The Belvedere terraces off Piazza del Popolo give the free rooftop-cone panorama
Taxis and driving
- ·Pre-book through your accommodation; there is no meaningful rank, and the last FSE train leaves earlier than dinner ends
- ·Frankly the easiest way to do the Valle d'Itria: paid lots sit at the trulli zone's edge, and Locorotondo and Martina Franca are 10 minutes away
