See passesnone (boat or bus from Como / Varenna). No rail: arrive by boat (the arrival Bellagio deserves), or the ASF C30 bus along the cliff road from Como in about 70 minutes. Quickest rail combination: train to Varenna, then the 15 minute ferry across.
The village is a five minute walk end to end (all of it stairs between the waterfront and the upper lanes). Transit means boats: the mid-lake triangle links Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio every half hour or so in season, and the car ferry crosses from Cadenabbia
