- ·The walled old town past the Scaligero castle bridge is pedestrian: castle, lanes and the Grotte di Catullo at the tip are all walked
- ·The walk from the entrance bridge to the Grotte di Catullo at the far tip takes about 25 minutes at a stroll

- ·The historic centre is a camera controlled ZTL with a single entrance; only registered vehicles (hotel guests arrange it with their hotel) may cross the bridge, and fines run EUR 83 to 333. Use the large paid lots before the bridge and walk in
