Why add it
Italy on Foot works as a web app: added to your home screen it gets its own icon, opens full screen without the browser bars, and keeps you signed in. While you're in Italy that matters, Today, Map, and the Concierge are one tap away instead of buried in browser tabs. There is nothing to download from the App Store.
On iPhone or iPad (Safari)
1. Open app.italyonfoot.com in Safari and sign in. 2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen). 3. Scroll down the share sheet and tap 'Add to Home Screen'. 4. Tap 'Add' in the top corner. The Italy on Foot icon appears on your home screen; from now on, open the app from there.
On Android (Chrome)
1. Open app.italyonfoot.com in Chrome and sign in. 2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top corner. 3. Tap 'Add to Home screen' (on some phones it says 'Install app'). 4. Confirm. The icon lands on your home screen and opens full screen like any app.
Good to know
You stay signed in between visits, and everything works exactly as it does in the browser, same account, same trips, same credits. You'll still need an internet connection while travelling (the app talks to our servers for your itinerary, maps, and Concierge answers). If the icon ever misbehaves after a big update, remove it and add it again, your account and trips are safe on our side.
