Getting started with Italy on Foot

Learn how to get a pass, explore cities, and build trip plans.

What's free and what isn't

Exploring is free: browse the city catalogue on Explore and read any city page without a pass. A pass is required to plan, save, and use the Concierge. Your account is created with your first pass purchase and holds your pass and your trips: saving cities, comparing them, planning or saving a trip, and the trip-aware Concierge all need a pass. To plan, pick up a Trip Pass (€29 · 90 days) or Italy Year (€69 · 12 months) from the Upgrade page.

Your account is created at checkout

Pick a pass on the Upgrade page and pay with Stripe. If you're not signed in when you buy, we email you a secure sign-in link and your account is created around your purchase; clicking the link also verifies your email. An account is where your pass and your trips live. Browsing cities works without an account at all.

Explore cities

The Explore page lets you browse all 442 Italian cities. Use the region and vibe filters at the top to narrow down, you can filter by tags like food, culture, history, beach, wellness, and more. Each city tile shows a hero photo, vibe tags, and a seasonality strip; with a trip open it also shows a fit badge.

Prices in EUR or USD

Every city page has a 'Prices at a glance' card. It defaults to euros (Italy-first) and you can flip the whole card to USD with the toggle in its corner. Climate temperatures have the same kind of °C/°F toggle.

Build your first trip

From Explore, add a city (or two or three) to a trip. Set your dates with When-to-Go, order the cities with Build my route, run Trip check, then build your itinerary, a day-by-day plan with timed stops, restaurant ideas, neighbourhood tips, and Google Maps links. You'll need a Trip Pass or Italy Year to build and save; your work is kept while you check out.
