Arriving
Genova Piazza Principe (and Brignole). Two main stations bracket the centre: Principe sits by the port and old town, Brignole by the 19th-century quarter; the metro and any bus link the two in minutes.

Single ticket €2.00: 110 minutes on buses, the metro, AND the funiculars and historic public lifts.
One short metro line threads the port edge; the real Genoese transit is vertical, the Zecca-Righi funicular and the Art Nouveau Castelletto lift are attractions that happen to be public transport.
Tabaccherie, machines, the AMT app, or contactless on the metro; one ticket genuinely covers the vertical city.
Validate on every boarding; the lifts and funiculars check too.
Ride the funicular up to Righi for the harbour panorama and the lift to Castelletto at dusk; the 110 minute ticket often covers a whole outing.
On foot
