Siena (below the town). The station sits 2 km below the walls: a moving-walkway and escalator link (or any city bus) climbs to the centre. From Florence the Autolinee Toscane 131 coach is often the better arrival, it takes about 75 minutes and stops far closer to the old town.
Urban ticket €2.00: 90 minutes on the city minibuses (2.00 from 1 August 2026; 1.70 before).
Tabaccherie and the at bus app; the little Pollicino minibuses are the only vehicles allowed near the centre.
Most visitors ride exactly twice: up from the station on arrival and back down on departure. Everything inside the walls is on foot.
