Arriving
none (ferry only, to Marina Grande). Capri is reached only by sea: hydrofoils from Naples (about 50 minutes) and Sorrento (about 25), plus seasonal boats from the Amalfi Coast, all landing at Marina Grande.

Tickets · Funicular and island buses
Funicular single €2.40: one ride between Marina Grande and Capri town, the essential first hop off the ferry.
Tiny island buses shuttle Capri town, Anacapri and the marinas; they are genuinely small, so queues form in peak season.
Funicular tickets at the Marina Grande booths opposite the ferry offices; bus tickets on board or at kiosks.
No pass needed: you will ride the funicular twice and maybe a bus or two.
On foot
- ·Beyond the piazzetta, Capri is stairs and lanes: the best of the island (Arco Naturale, the Fortini path, Villa Jovis) is reached only on foot
- ·Anacapri is the quieter half; the chairlift up Monte Solaro from there is the easiest big view in the region
Taxis and driving
- ·The open-top stretch taxis are iconic and priced accordingly; fine as a one-off treat up to Anacapri
- ·Visitors cannot bring cars to the island in season, and you would not want to: the road network is a handful of kilometres
